Red, White and Blue, It is what we salute in remembrance of many that have fallen. Take a few moments to relish your freedom, not just a day off. Many of our service people are not home with their families today because they are still out watching over us. When you see our special service people say a big Thank YOU! It really means a lot to them. They can never hear it enough that the public is backing them up here at home.

We bow our heads in silent grace;
Proud to stand upon this place.
To honor those who we love and lost;
Whose lives were taken at such a cost.
Through the pain and sorrow, for all the brave and true;
To always be remembered by me and by you.
To heal the minds and hearts, of those who still live;
Always remembering what they had to give.
Live your lives with pride in hearing what I say;

What Does Earth Day Mean to YOU? This is a wake up call for all of us. We have seen many birds and animals fall by the side because we thought we were using our resources well.

Quess what folks we need to see reality for what it is. We have to give back to our home in many ways and we can make an impact even if we are just one soul. Make it a habit to conserve, water is one simple way turn it off do not waste. Join people and recycle if you have a table that someone else can use then give it to them. Needless waste is found in our dumps with stuff we have thrown away and others can use it.

I am one that loves shopping in a yard sale, sure the colors are "what you see is what you get" but hey the price is negotiable. Bargains abound for the hound that gets out and shops early. I also love to shop on craigslist, of course, its in the news that the guy that murdered the girl that was advertising her trade. Everything will get bad news sometimes. We are in the midst of a continuous rain storm!
Of course, We expect wonderful flowers in May!

Just about had enough it could let us dry out for
a time. This gets old day after day! What can we

Please let it come when we really need it in the summer when they say we are in the drought.

The lady I talked to in Alabama was happy to get the rain because she had her garden planted and needed the water to produce veggies.

Happy Birthday! The day of the 17th Birthday arrived, a truly magical time before you make it to 18. It was a great day ending with a fun day at the Mexican Restaurant with a song from people that could not pronounce her name.

She got to wear the hat when they sang Happy Birthday to her and the red face gave way to the moment. She took advantage of the dessert of deep fried ice cream and scraped it clean.

She proceeded to call her boyfriend and tell him that he had not sang to her. He sang to her in three different languages but the German was a bit hard to listen too.

Time Flies 17 Years Ago I Was In Labor With My Third Girl. I spent the day with my other girls watching a movie and bowling but lo and behold my back started hurting with all the celebrating.

Next day was the time to introduce myself to my little one with the wonder of having a new life to treasure. I had to call in and tell them I would not be there for the bowling as I was in the hospital having my little one.

She was allowed to come to the rest of the bowling league though. It is surprising how they adapt. She was there for the beginning of the league so it was okay to finish. Everyone loves holding a new one and that gives the new Mama a chance to continue life as it was before.

This turned out to be my most vocal baby usually you will attach the little one and they are only concerned with filling their belly. This one wanted to tell the whole world she was here with her loud humming of satisfaction. Should have known this was going to be the way she was to be all her life the talking never stops.

Bringing back memories of yesterday and enjoying that its over and they are on their way to becoming an adult with the cycle continuing.

One More Day Until My Birthday

One More Day till my Birthday. Then I know it is two weeks till Christmas! If my birthday falls on a Thursday then so does Christmas and New Years Day.

Wasn't that nice to show up 2 weeks before the grand holiday. It really is not that great because you don't get to many presents because the holidays are close together.

And then you find out that everything that could possibly come due happens to also be in your birthday month. The tags, the taxes on your land, the drivers license usually expires on your birthday.

I went to have my eyes checked to see how they were doing and he said my vision has changed but didn't want to mention the B word yet. This definitely pleased me. After 6 years I guess it should change but if they were holding without getting a new prescription I felt great. I told him I don't wear them anyway. I really do not want to make my eyes depend on them.

I hope everyone is getting ready for the big holiday and please know that when it passes everything will be back to normal. Just do not let the stress keep you from enjoying the new year.

There is really a lot of pressure on adults when they have children screaming for every little toy with big price tags that is advertised on the Television.

If you are a single adult, then the pressure builds up to be able to satisfy and promote a happy demeanor when in your heart you are breaking. What happens if you go and use the dreaded credit card to bring happy faces at Christmas? After the bills come in the month of January where are you at then?

When you are by yourself through the holidays you want to be with your family or at least a loved one. Finding yourself by yourself is one reason that people are ready to surrender to the uselessness of suicide.

Reach out and truly understand what the holiday season is this year. It's not about the shopping and awful manners that are portrayed from one stranger to another. Make your presents from your heart, bake a grand cookie and spread your love in the message. Who loves a huge cookie that is homemade? There are beautiful jars, make your own salad dressings with the herbs included. These are useful and beautiful added to any kitchen.

Find it in your heart to help people, if not the homeless then just help out with old folks and give them a reason to feel they are needed. There are just to many old folks that would make great Grand Parents if someone would just adopt them. I told my girls you can never have to many Grandparents. The feeling goes back to them, that they are still special.

You can always add more trees in other rooms to continue using other themes, to the delight of your guests. Even seeing the retro trees brings back memories. I still remember the foil colored tree with the spinning light to change the colors as it spun. Now there are trees with the fiber optic lights to accomplish the same effect. Artificial trees of today look like the trees in the forest. Just adding the ornaments that make us happy will enchant our season and our guests that visit.
